#1002 closed defect (Fixed)

tor writes logs too often (DoS)

I recently switched from BandwithAccounting to RelayBandWidth rate, and tor promptly hit the file descriptor limit.
Instead of writing a helpful log entry and perhaps refusing new connections, tor wrote log entries over 20 times per second, causing the resulting 1.9gb file to fill my /var partition and impact upon other running services.
Apart from being annoying, this looks like an easy way to DoS a relay.

Already fixed in, in r16479. Also a duplicate of bug 748.

Gentootor: you could try and see if you like that one more.

My apologies, I did search but obviously not well enough.
