Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong place for Torbutton bug reports. I see advice to "select the Torbutton project on this tracker", but can find no such button.

Anyway, when I navigate to any xhtml strict page which has any non-numerical entities (e.g.  ), I recieve the error page "XML Parsing Error: undefined entity" when torbutton is enabled. When it tor is turned off from it, or the addon is disabled, I have no such problems. Also, if the addon is disabled and I manually enable the tor proxy settings, I do not experience any problems. I guess this is something to do with torbutton disallowing access to an external file to find the meaning of entities.

This behaviour can be seen for example when trying to access the page , which causes the following errorpage:

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Line Number 41, Column 20:<div class="title">&nbsp;</div>

This behaviour has been present for a while, I think since the first Firefox 3 release (maybe before), and is present for me with release 3.0.11. I'm currently running a stable and up-to-date x86 gentoo.

My guess was right; when accessing such a page, the following is returned to the error console:

[06-23 16:38:35] Torbutton NOTE: Blocking local request from:;a=summary (http) for: file:///usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/res/dtd/xhtml11.dtd

Wow, sorry I let this slip through the cracks for so long. Excellent diagnosis. I've attached a fix api in
the attachments tab. It seems to have solved it for me.

No problem Mike, thanks for getting to it now. The attached xpi fixes it for me too. So very many thanks, and feel free to close the bug resolved.
