#10152 closed enhancement (fixed)

Change Flickr to use https://www.flickr.com/ instead of https://secure.flickr.com/

Description

We have reports from Flickr users that HTTPS Everywhere is redirecting to https://secure.flickr.com/ . We now support HTTPS better on https://www.flickr.com/ and we will be deprecating the secure.flickr.com endpoint to focus on www.flickr.com.

@Flickr: Well better fix bug #10488 first.

Hi - as of 31 March 2014, Flickr redirects all web traffic from HTTP to HTTPS. We have plans for additional security features but I would appreciate it if you could update HTTPS Everywhere to make sure initial loads using HTTP on the following domains are all forced over to HTTPS. Please let me know if I can help or clarify anything.

flic.kr
flickr.com
*.flickr.com (site and API. Main domain are www.flickr.com, api.flickr.com, m.flickr.com)
*.staticflickr.com (photos - like "farm8.staticflickr.com" or "c1.staticflickr.com")

We are hoping to reduce proliferation of the "secure.flickr.com" domain so we would also kindly request that you remove references to it.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi @pde, I understand you are managing a lot of priorities. Could you help set my expectation for when this change might receive attention?

Thanks,
Tim

Squashed related changes for the 4.0 branch in 6a05fd6a.

I'd be grateful if you could check that the Flickr ruleset as of that revision is correct and complete.
