#1055 closed defect (Fixed)

extensions.torbutton.logmethod shouldn't be 2 for Firefox 3.5

Description

extensions.torbutton.logmethod is still set to 2 in Firefox 3.5.
sending output to the DebugLogger extension if present.

This means it is trying to send debug info to an extension that
is no longer in development and cannot be installed as an add-on
in 3.5

It's only still set to 2 because you set it.

If you right click on the pref in about config and go to reset, it will unbold and go to 4.

Also it won't send to DebugLogger if its not there. So I'm not sure what the problem is...

eh ? I didn't set anything - I'm a naive user. The default setting for extensions.torbutton.logmethod is 2

that's extensions.torbutton.loglevel you're referring to, surely ?

the problem is I seem to be wasting an awful lot of time trying to find out
what my other problem is (#1053), and I'm not seeing any output from the Firefox
error console to help me. I assumed this was because the logmethod should have been set
to '1' by default, not '2' to see the log output if this defunct extension called
DebugLogger isn't present - which it never will be with a new installation.

At least, that's what it says in your design notes for Torbutton.

My apologies. I misread the bug.

You're right, I probably should remove this eventually, but it should be dumping to the js error console if
debug logger is uninstalled..

Yeah, come to think of it, the default log method should be 1.
