Is it still happens for you with TBB 3.5.2?
Did you tested vanilla Firefox 24ESR?

An example from "some other sites" would be good, ideally one without the need to create an account.

You don't need an account. Just load this url using a fresh identity: https://www.linkedin.com/company/sephora

Looking at top, Firefox goes to 100% cpu.
The LinkedIn home page works.
It works in Linux-64 Firefox 26.0

Applying the fix for #9901 solves this problem. Resolving this ticket as its duplicate then.
