Description

Comments like this are popping up all over the net vis-a-vie the fact that tor is
reporting in it's log that it is using excluded nodes with impunity...

This bug should be fixed urgently as it has the potential to serious undermine tor's

user base and confidence in it's functional anonymity.

"The fact that Tor ignores very specific instructions to connect to a
place I certainly do not want to connect to, and the amount of times
these nodes come up, really, really, makes me wonder about the
trustworthiness of the entire project. I'd like to hear from Roger or
another one of the Tor devs - what's with Tor being hell-bent on
connecting to a series of systems in DC with sequential IP addresses
and no hostnames? Why is traffic being sent to those mysterious
systems, despite my instructions and wishes? "

"Its working for normal internet and has
been doing so for years, it's only ONION sites where they deliberatly
let this "NSA spy feature" remain, to decrease privacy."

"Agreed. Happened to me just now also. My report of it is under the Bad
Exit Nodes topic. Further more, I've never seen this happen with
non-NSA spy nodes, period. Mine was "jalopy".

Also, it's not how you do bug reports. Please be aware that we're working on a fix for bug 1090 as best we
can. The hard part with solving a bug is generally not "convince the developers that they should care"; it
is "help the developers figure out why it is happening so they can fix it."
