Description

Ideally, we want everyone in the same hotel.

Hotels run by US-based corporations have the advantages that prices can be more easily negotiated and the wire transfers are a lot easier.

Status Update:  Sorting through the bids received from Hotels. com.  Currently have 5 bids out for additional information.  Are within a 15 minute walk of the meeting space.

Expecting list of hotels by end of week.

If you want me to visit some of them I need the list Thursday at the latest. Otherwise it'll have to wait April and I might actually not have the time then… bokml might be able to do visits earlier though.

No need at this time to visit hotels.  The list is still being constructed as I'm waiting for responses on availability and pricing.

The only reasonable options as I understood them were far out in the suburbs, which didn't work so well when our venue was in the middle of town.

Instead we went the more decentralized route of asking people to find their own hotel. Hopefully this approach will also scale better in the future, since paying for N hotel rooms as N grows isn't something that Tor can do without a budget line for the dev meeting.

The tradeoff of course is more work for the individuals attending, and also it's harder for people to hang out in the same place at night.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
