Cookies don't get cleared when Torbutton addon is enabled

Description (last modified by mikeperry)

I'm using FF 3.5.4 and have the Torbutton *addon* enabled on my installation. Usually, the Torbutton *itself* is disabled.

Whenever I clear cookies in FF while Torbutton is disabled (but addon itself is enabled), FF seems to have cleared all cookies. If I go to the individually remove cookies panel, it's empty. However, as soon as I restart FF, *all* the previous cookies magically appear there again. I have been able to fix the issue by:

1) Deleting cookies* files in the FF profile.
2) Disabling the Torbutton addon altogether.

This was a bug with older Torbutton versions. It could also be a problem with your Torbutton settings.

What are your settings under Torbutton Preferences->Security->Cookies?

Also, what is your torbutton version?

Torbutton version: 1.2.4

Cookies settings: Store Non-Tor cookies in a protected jar

Weird. How about your firefox cookie settings? Anything fishy there?

Are you using any other addons? I know addons such as cookie culler can also get into weird states and
destroy your cookies.

Hrmm. Perhaps your Firefox is actually crashing every time it exits due to some other bug. This could also cause
this.

Can you change extensions.torbutton.logmethod to 1 and watch the Tools->Error Console? If you see any torbutton
messages like "Crash detected, attempting recovery" that is likely what happens.

It's possible this is related to Bug 1321. Can you try the torbutton-1.2.5pre11.xpi in the attachments tab
here and let me know if the issue still happens?
