Description

It seems the resident scammer, Randolph, is back. http://sourceforge.net/projects/tor-browser/ is malware and copyright/trademark violation.

In the past, we've sent 2 registered letters to Dice Holdings from our lawyers without a response for past trademark violations by Randolph.

An abuse complaint has been submitted via sf.net's online form. I expect nothing to happen given past complaints. see http://sourceforge.net/projects/tor-browser/report_inappropriate

The original appears to have been taken down, but these are still active:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/torbrowser/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/browser4tor/

Please, everyone, report them as inappropriate. Sometimes only the weight of many complaints can get these disabled.

How does one report to SF? Is there a report button, or do we need to email SF?

And how about a email template we can use? Would someone like to write up a short and simple template? Is there trademark laws we should cite, etc.?

Nothing? No responses? I guess this doesn't really matter then, eh? SMH.

it does matter, but sf doesn't give a shit based on past experiences

Click "report inappropriate content" and specify the problem. You do not need to leave your email address or be logged in to SF (although if you have a SourceForge account, that will probably help).

The relevant trademark law is that Tor has a trademark and random jerks are using the trademarked name to confuse people into downloading their software instead.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
