OS X package UID is a login user

In the OS X installer, a user is created with a uid of 503 (the 500 range, anyway). UIDs in this range show up in the login window/fast user switching, which isn't right for the tor user.

UID=103 seems OK here, or perhaps sub 100? I haven't been able to track down any actual documentation on the ranges, will try to find some and update this.

Ah, found the script in CVS.

Perhaps just a

grep '^..$'

in the uiddef=nidump passwd / | cut -d: -f3 | sort -n | tail -n 1 pipeline would be sufficient?

flyspray2trac: bug closed.
Fixed in CVS; the actual fix was slightly more complicated, since we need to get all users between 0 and 499. The new scripts will create a Tor user with a good uid; but if you already have a tor user from one of the old scripts, you will need to change its uid and chown its files manually.
