Have the old uptodate url always say you're out of date?

Description

If you go to
https://check.torproject.org/?lang=en-US&small=1&uptodate=1
over Tor, it will give you a comforting message about how you're all set.

But the only things that go to that URL these days are out-of-date TBBs, some of which have various bugs that prevent them from recognizing that they're out of date.

Should we just change the page to tell everybody that they're using an old TBB and they'd best get a new one?

The about:tor page has a link to "Test Tor Network Settings" that points to check.

Should we just change the page to tell everybody that they're using an old TBB and they'd best get a new one?

Maybe just tell anybody that has the uptodate qs param?

I still use the torcheck page when I'm playing around with Tor in non-Tor Browser ways, so I find it useful.

I kind of like what http://ip-check.info does in that it checks your user agent string and compares it to the Tor Browser's UA string. That page will give you a warning and return a yellow onion (instead of green) if it detects a non-Tor Browser UA. The problem with checking the UA to detect browser version is that UA checks can't tell the difference between Firefox 24.4 and 24.5.

A general encouragement to keep your browser up to date would make sense though. Perhaps one also stating that the Tor Browser does not update itself.
