HTTPS-Everywhere redirection loop errors for www.buzzfeed.com
HTTPS-Everywhere 4.0development.16; Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS (64-bit); Firefox 30.0 beta. The computer has 16 GB of RAM and 32 GB of swap space.
I'm redirecting stderr from Firefox to a file. I noticed numerous warnings mentioning www.buzzfeed.com -- for example:
HTTPS Everywhere: Redirection loop trying to set HTTPS on: http://www.buzzfeed.com/static/images/public/backgrounds/trans.gif (falling back to HTTP)
I also noted that Firefox's virtual memory usage ballooned to over 14 GB very soon after I went to a BuzzFeed web page.
I have disabled the BuzzFeed rule, but someone should probably look into the issue and fix it.
I've been experiencing several mysterious crash / reboot events on this computer lately, and although I was concerned that it might be due to a hardware problem, now I'm wondering if it might instead be because this broken HTTPS-Everywhere rule has been causing Firefox to use up all available RAM and swap.
