Description

I put in the vidalia's torcc:

CircuitBuildTimeout 5
LearnCircuitBuildTimeout 1
CircuitIdleTimeout 300
KeepalivePeriod 60
NewCircuitPeriod 5
NumEntryGuards 18

...

RelayBandwidthBurst "n" # "n" = my ISP bandwidth in Bytes/s permitted for download - ~5%
RelayBandwidthRate "m" # "m" = my ISP bandwidth in Bytes/s permitted for upload - ~5%

And you think this speeds you up for your performance as a relay?

Most of these are bad ideas. Setting the RelayBandwidthRate and RelayBandwidthBurst are good ideas.

The others are neutral at best, and likely harmful.

Also, a trac ticket isn't a good place to publish this sort of thing -- nobody is going to notice it. Maybe the tor-talk list is better?

Also, Windows XP is now unsupported. It's not going to be getting security patches in the future. I don't think it's a great idea to be running relays there.

Resolution: not a bug
Status: newclosed

Closing as "not a bug" -- the tor-talk list is indeed probably the best place to figure this stuff out. Good luck!

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
