Description

My name is Danfong Hsieh. I'm from Taiwan, Republic of China. Personally, I appreciate the Tor Browser software very much. However, your software is still not widely used in Taiwan. In order to make it more popular in Taiwan, I have translated the strings of webpage(https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/torproject/language/zh_TW/) into Chinese Traditional strings.

When will the Chinese(Taiwan) version of Tor Browser releases? Many people in Taiwan and Hong Kong want to use the Chinese(Taiwan) version.

Best regards,
Danfong Hsieh

When the source strings are 100% translated, I think, we can ask developers to include Chinese(Taiwan) version in next release.

By the way, do you want to be a reviewer of the Taiwan group? If so, please let know your transifex ID. Thanks! (Oh, I am one the coordinators.)

Best regards,
Danfong Hsieh

I apologize for not seeing this sooner! As the zh_TW strings appear to be at 100% for all resources (aside from the short user manual), I don't believe there should be an issue with adding support for this language.

I have CC'ed mikeperry so he can see this request.

Hi Colin,

Great. And thanks!

Just checked other languages and I notice Japanese strings are also 100% translated and Korean are not. However, there is Korean version of TBB and no Japanese version. I belive we have more Japanese tickets on RT than Korean, at least it's true for help-zh channel (not really sure how they ended up there).

If there is no problem, I'd like to see more supporting languages, especially Traditional Chinese and Japanese.

The source strings are 100% translated, I don't know the new version still has not include Chinese(Taiwan) version.

Because of the way we distributed our releases, it was very difficult to add new languages until now.

In the next months we will provide the Tor Browser in all the languages with a complete translation. This is already happening in the Tor Browser alpha:

https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en#downloads-alpha

where a zh_TW version is already available.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
