Description

It seems RT supports "Seamless PGP support for encrypting, decrypting, signing, and verifying outgoing and incoming email" [0].

If private keys were added to the RT installation it will make managing PGP easier for all of support assistants.

Wouldn't it be just a false sense of security? The whole content of the communication is stored unencrypted in a database.

Also, TTBOMK, this is not something I can do with my Unix rights.

Users just use Thunderbird while we have to do everything manually, I thought using RT's capabilities would make our lives easier.

When users are communicating using OpenPGP, they expect a certain level of privacy. Using RT's OpenPGP feature will not give them that level of privacy: the email will be decrypted upon arrival. It will then be stored unencrypted on an unencrypted (TTBOMK) hard disk. I believe it would mislead users.
