Description (last modified by mikeperry)

Now that I have updated FF to 3.6, when I enable torbutton and try to go to any web site, I get:

XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/chrome/tookit.jar!/content/global/netError.xht[...]
Line Number 1, Column 1:

This is with Vista, Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

This is with a fresh profile and no other add-ons installed.

I am not getting this with a windows xp system. I'm not sure if this is an vista vs. xp issue or something else on the vista box. I would have thought starting with a fresh profile would rule out some configuration issue in FF, but there may be some non-FF configuration setting involved. Any suggestions appreciated. Again, this only happens when I enable torbutton.

Can you try the .xpi in the attachments tab, and go to about:config, and set the extensions.torbutton.loglevel to 3
and look for any messages about that file url in your Firefox Tools->Error Console window?

I wonder if Torbutton is deciding to block it on vista for some reason...

I was encountering the same error as above:

XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/chrome/toolkit.jar!/content/global/netError.xhtml
Line Number 1, Column 1:

The error is experienced when enabling the TORbutton (1.2.5) in Mozilla Firefox (3.6.9) and trying to browse any webpage. I have installed vidalia-bundle- and UNCHECKED "Polipo" during the installation.

Everything installs fine, but when I checked the TORbutton options; "Use Polipo" is still checked. Unchecking that options said error.

The install packagers @ need to fix this.......

Try Torbutton 1.3.3-alpha when it is released today. 1.3.2-alpha should also fix this, but it is not compatible with Firefox 4.0.1.
