Description

Hi,
the packet tor-browser-linux64-4.0.2_en-US.tar.xz has the bash script that launch firefox that has a little bug.

start-tor-browser is the bash script that launch firefox and inside there are some little errors:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH="${HOME}/TorBrowser/Tor/" is wrong, the correct path is LD_LIBRARY_PATH="${HOME}/Browser/TorBrowser/Tor/"

./firefox is wrong, the correct path is ./Browser/firefox

TORARCHITECTURE=$(expr "$(file TorBrowser/Tor/tor)" : '.*ELF \(:digit:?*\)') is wrong -> TORARCHITECTURE=$(expr "$(file Browser/TorBrowser/Tor/tor)" : '.*ELF \(:digit:?*\)')

So please correct the path in start-tor-browser.

Best regards.

What do you get as output if you add echo "${HOME}" immediately before the first LD_LIBRARY_PATH line?

Hi gk,
I get this:

/home/my_user_name/tor-browser_en-US

Please note this:

tor-browser-linux64-4.0.2_en-US.tar.xz lack of the simlink:

Tor Browser/

start-tor-browser \/\/ symlink to Browser/start-tor-browser
Browser/

firefox
start-tor-browser \/\/ launcher script

This new structure of directories is indicated here by "mcs":

https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/11641

Best regards.

Where did you get your copy of tor-browser-linux64-4.0.2_en-US.tar.xz?
The one I downloaded includes a symlink:

wget 'https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/4.0.2/tor-browser-linux64-4.0.2_en-US.tar.xz'
tar tvf tor-browser-linux64-4.0.2_en-US.tar.xz | grep start-tor-browser
-rwx------ ubuntu/ubuntu 10407 1999-12-31 19:00 tor-browser_en-US/Browser/start-tor-browser
lrwxrwxrwx ubuntu/ubuntu 0 1999-12-31 19:00 tor-browser_en-US/start-tor-browser -> Browser/start-tor-browser

I have checked the location where I had download tor browser bundle:
https://www.torproject.org/dist/torbrowser/4.0.2/tor-browser-linux64-4.0.2_en-US.tar.xz

And it is with the symlink. I have the original tar and it is with the symlink.

Sorry, it is my mistake. My apologies. :(
