Description

Orbot can't do transparent proxying without root access, but there is no browser for Android 2.0 which supports proxy settings.

Update on this:

  • working on TorButton for Fennec on Android that will work on 2.x
  • We will be launching OtRChat and Freebird (for Twitter client) that will work on 2.x with Tor
  • investigating system proxy settings that will allow for non-transproxy routing of browser

Our ProxyMob add-on for Firefox on Android, provides basic functionality for browsing through Orbot/Tor on non-rooted devices:

There is also a text-only, open-source browser in the Android Market called "NDBrowser" which works with Orbot via our ORlib integration library:
