TUMBLR - HTTPS Everywhere v 4.0.3 on Firefox Breaks User-Posted Tumblr Pictures

Reported by: cypherpunks Owned by:

User posted pictures disappear, leaving only a hyperlink which will not load the pictures (probably the picture "alt" tag). Disabling HTTPS everywhere instantly loads them all, re-enabling instantly removes them. Does not matter whether logged into Tumblr or not. Observed on current Firefox w/HTTPS Everywhere plugin running on Win 7 and Win 8.1.

If I try to open such an image I get this error:

e.g. on
this link

   <Message>Access Denied</Message>

original link url:

   <Message>Access Denied</Message>

Another test case:

Disabling the ruleset for tumblr is sufficient to make it work. The problem started within the past week or so.

Bug confirmed, reproduced. Doesn't matter if the image is uploaded to Tumblr or provided as URL -- Tumblr fails to serve the image properly when the HTTPS Everywhere rule "Tumblr (partial)" is in effect. Disabling that rule solves the problem, allowing those images to appear.

Even with the rule disabled, Tumblr uses HTTPS, at least in my case (I am logged in).

Contact me if I can help in any way.
