Description (last modified by hellais)

This page should contain best practices and information on how to add Tor support to your application.

Here is what comes to mind as useful links/information that should be present:

iOS:

Android:

This is following up on the excellent discussions held by Nathan at the Tor dev meeting. Notes on those are found here: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/org/meetings/2015WinterDevMeeting/Notes/MobileTech

That page should also focus:

  • on Server-side app integration (like GlobaLeaks is doing on debian, soon using TxTorCon)

The purpose of this page is to focus just on mobile apps. In the desktop world tor integration is a bit simpler (most package managers handle dependencies, etc.) and out of scope for this.

I updated the title to make it more clear that what we are talking about is just mobile.

I recall someone being interested in the idea of CPAProxy working on both iOS and OSX (which technically should work, but I’m not sold on the OSX case, since the application could just exec a real tor…).

But yeah, the focus here should be improving ways to get Tor into apps in non-traditional computing environments.

I'm going to call this a won'tfix. I think this is right up Guardian project's alley.
