Description

It would be nice to list "Tor" as the first project on torproject.org: on the main page, under "Our Projects" and on https://www.torproject.org/projects/projects.html.en

Will do it in no time if we agree on what to link as the project page. I see these options:

I lean towards the third because it is three clicks away from the frontpage and offers the most valuable menu links from a user's perspective (although it probably looks terrible for non-technical users?).

The main page has already "What is Tor?" with a link to the overview page. Still add again to projects? Then the number of projects would be uneven and we could add another - any idea which?

Did anyone notice that it says "Download Tor" and links to the Tor Browser download page? If I fix this it might break the design.

The proposed code for the projects page (Where gets the path of <page projects/tor> defined?):

<div class="projectbox">
<a href="<page projects/tor>"><img class="icon" src="$(IMGROOT)/icon-Tor.jpg" alt="Tor Icon" width="75" height="75"></a>
<div class="projectdesc"><div class="name"><a href="<page projects/tor>">Tor</a></div> <p>Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against traffic analysis, a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security.</p>
</div></div>

as this was merged the project list now misses an icon for Tor. Just added a new commit to above (still open) PR to change the icon path to the onion (as for metrics).

(maybe the merged PRs are still open because the tickets have not been set to merge_ready? wouldn't expect GH to check though)

The project list currently is missing an icon for Tor. This PR fixes this: https://github.com/torproject/webwml/pull/26
