Description

We have gathered a lot of data about the Tor network and written tools to analyze these data. We should tell other researchers, so that they can do better research and write better papers with our data. We should also ask them what other data they need that we didn't think of. Maybe we should also put up a list of research abstracts on the metrics website to give people ideas what they might want to work on.

I wonder how to make useful tickets out of this one.

I think we could plausibly mark this one as done, with the idea that it's something we should keep doing over time but there's no specific task to be done.

That said, you might link to the diversity-of-tor-network blog post from the metrics page somewhere. Is there a plausible place for links like that?

We could add a news item on https://metrics.torproject.org/index.html, but I have no idea if people even look at it.

We could add a new Ideas page under Research, but I don't know how much that overlaps with https://www.torproject.org/getinvolved/research.

Maybe we need a more thorough concept for deciding what belongs on the Tor homepage or the metrics homepage. We could even integrate the Graphs, Research, and Status pages of the metrics homepage into the Tor homepage, so that people don't have to look in two places for stuff (and we don't have to copy it).

I added a link to your blog post to the papers page:

https://metrics.torproject.org/papers.html

In the future we can add more blog posts related to metrics data or metrics research there.

Closing this ticket.
