Description

A relay operator asked for the ability to reset the state file's AccountingBytesReadInInterval and AccountingBytesWrittenInInterval values.

While a workaround is to edit or delete the state file, perhaps command-line arguments AccountingSetRead and AccountingSetWritten could be useful.

See also #15989 for AccountingRule in and out, as well as the AccountingEnableDirPort override.

This seems more like a controller thing to me? I don't like having config arguments that you would never actually want to put in your config file. (Or do I misunderstand?)

You're right, I don't think a torrc config is the best way to do this.

There's an easy workaround for resetting the accounting bytes: "remove your state file".
As for setting them to a particular value, that's getting rather obscure, but "edit your state file" works.

Finally admitting that 0.3.??? was a euphemism for Tor: unspecified all along.

Remove an old triaging keyword.
