Description

> telnet 127.0.0.1 9051
AUTHENTICATE ...
GETINFO ip-to-country/18.0.0.1
552 Unrecognized key "ip-to-country/18.0.0.1"
getinfo version
250-version=0.2.2.14-alpha (git-3218a82991d890b0)

This example was copied control-spec, so it should not result in an error. (BTW: The version list has no 0.2.2.14-alpha version in it.)

Is this with a loaded GeoIP file configured?

comment:2 Changed 9 years ago by qbi

Well, the config was OK, but someone removed the GeoIP-file. Sorry for the noise.

However I find the message a bit misleading. I thought the config key "ip-to-country" in general was not available to Tor. Maybe this could/should be changed in something like "5xy GeoIP database not found".

Right now there's no easy way to return a specific error message from a GETINFO implementation function. I'd be glad for that to change, though.

Check out branch "bug1699" in my public git repo at https://git.torproject.org/nickm/tor.git ; does it look good?
