Description

allow users to specify for which country they need the bridges. bridges that are blocked in one country are still useful in another. bridges with one kind of pluggable transport might be easy to block in one country work fine in another. it should not be decided upon ip but the user should have the choice. he should also be able to decide wether stealth or speed is more important.

Also, no. Specifying whether or not a distributed bridge should be unblocked in some particular countr{y,ies} has nothing to do with using domain fronting to communicate with BridgeDB.

We already do this. Closing.

https://bridges.torproject.org/options doesnt tell anything about it.
if it selects bridges secretly depending on language or ip then thats a bad thing. there are hundreds of circumstances where the country the user wants to use tor is not the same as the one determined by a database lookup based on a website he visits.
if its only in the backend then it should be implemented in the distributors.

from #16650

...helping them get the right kind of bridges, helping clients determine which kind of bridge is the right kind, ...

i thought with right kind of bridges you meant those that work in a specific country

...and helping BridgeDB know more about which (types of) bridges are blocked (in specific regions, possibly)...

i also assumed that part of the reason you want to know about this would be to supply the right bridges to the right people

btw i only wanted to mention this to inb4 duplicate
