Should we enable/disable typing notifications?

Description

We have currently disabled typing notifications, so if you are talking with someone, you won't see "X is typing...".

The reason we disabled these were because we felt that it is best not to reveal that you are typing to the other person but mrphs suggested that it made more sense to show these notifications, given we are an instant messaging client.

Thoughts?

other messengers like trillian or pidgin have a setting that allows to switch typing notifications on and off. id even vote for a toggle switch inside the message window because user preference highly depends on the momentary usage case.

It is possible to toggle typing notifications on and off from the preferences (not the message window though). But we need to decide on a default preference with which we ship. Right now, it is disabled.

After discussion in #tor-project as part of the applications meeting, we have decided that typing notifications will be disabled by default but it should be made easier for users to turn it on if they need them.

Additionally, a per message window status indication of the current typing notification (and perhaps logging - #10939) status seems like a good idea, even if the pref is global.
