Hey, just wanted to test the Messenger with a facebook account but allways get the error:
"Error: Not authorized (Did you enter the wrong password?)"

Using Ubuntu 15.10 and the 64 bit version of the Messenger.
Will attach the Log-File.
Hope this will help you ;)

Keep up the good work!

A user in IRC reported that they were able to get FB working by generating an app password:

Go to facebook settings >App Passwords>Edit>Generate app password> enter name of app>generate password>copy password and login with that

Same problem on Mac OX X 10.11. Could this be due to FB's internal account protection, when one logs in from a new "location"? Man, FB really needs to make https://chat.facebookcorewwwi.onion/ accessible.

The app password advice helped after a reboot, thanks!

I could not agree more. You're welcome.

Thx that worked for me too.
Facebook blocked my account at the beginning because of an unknown login-country but now it seems to work.

No problem. The only issue is, even though you tell facebook to remember the app it will note each login as a new app which floods you with status updates on facebook from every login you make through tor-messenger.

Resolution: wontfix
Status: newclosed

Facebook's XMPP gateway, long officially deprecated, doesn't appear to work anymore.
