Description

I have installed Tor Messenger package tor-messenger-linux64-0.1.0b2_en-US.tar.xz. When I try to click on the top menu of Tor Messenger main window i.e. File, Tor Messanger exits immediately without any information.

Ubuntu 14.04.

That's expected behaviour because by default, you run it detached mode with no output to stdout. If you want to see what happens when it starts or quits, you should run it as ./start-tor-messenger.desktop --verbose. Otherwise, it will silently quit. (It's the same as Tor Browser, we are even using the same script!)

This is what I see in the output with --verbose:

Are you using KDE by any chance?

Had the same problem using KDE 5 ( Plasma ) on Arch Linux.
Changing the GTK2 theme from oxygen-gtk to QtCurve fixed that ( seems like there are problems with some gtk themes ).
