Tor Browser crashes at startup - firefox 47.0 to blame??

Description

Tor Browser was working great everyday, until I updated today to 6.0.1

The newest updates says it updates firefox to 45.+ but mine is already at 47.0. Is there a mismatch between versions that is now causing the startup crash?

Would love to provide logs/more info. if I could find them.

The only logs in /users/local/tmp are huge firefox.exe crash dumps. No actual usable text in them, just scrambled junk.

Before I forget - have reinstalled twice now to see if it helps - no luck...

Is it possible that you mixed up Firefox with Tor Browser?

When you start tor browser, what does the content on "about:" page show? It should be "Version 45.2.0".

For info on debugging and log files, please have a look at https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/TorBrowser/Hacking

Firefox says its on 47.0, Tor Browser was installed with the latest version which (if I have read the change-log correctly) advises that it updates mozilla firefox to 45. The problem (alas) persists but now I think it is localized to this machine only. I have put Tor onto two other machines that did not have any version of Firefox installed onto them and Tor Browser works perfectly on both. Alas for this original machine which remains screwed. I cannot even get passed the error crash message when Tor is launched.

Hm. Weird. Could you install Firefox on one of the other machines, too, and see if that prevents Tor Browser from functioning as well?
