Description

The ‘What The Hack tutorial on hidden services’ (listed at the end of item ‘j’ in the ordered list on https://www.torproject.org/docs/documentation) recommends that users test their hidden service by configuring Tor to forward connections to the hidden service to google.com. As explained in http://archives.seul.org/or/talk/Mar-2007/msg00413.html, this procedure allows Google to collect a list associating .onion hostnames with the IP addresses behind which they were set up.

The link to that video should be removed from the documentation page, and if possible, replaced with a link to a video showing a safer method of configuring and testing a new hidden service.
