Multiplication and Division with Integers Conspiracy, Stupitidy or Plain Lazy?
To Whom It May Concern, Re: Multiplication and Division with Integers
Why do multiplication and division with integers not respect the natural 'Universal Law' with respect to 'truth' and other functions within mathematical equations? Their form is held in place, static with other equations, they are restrained with "rules" and manipulated to conform and are stagnant.
When questioned instructors have said they were "not sure why Integers have these rules", ...”it is a rule they learned, they are not sure why...” and it is an '"International Agreement” and not necessarily correct though understood". They have referred me elsewhere...
Multiplication and division does not respect the "value" of the negative and positive symbols or the signs as do with addition and subtraction. They are contained with superficial "Rules" when they could function with relation to other equations. It should have continuity with addition and subtraction rules having relevance with the placement of the numbers and the symbols. What is concerning is that these Integers' formula go on into other equations such as Algebra etc. and it is not in 'harmony ' with other mathematical systems and in the building blocks of the whole mathematical puzzle. It should be...
