MIN_BW_TO_ADVERTISE_DIRSERVER is 50KB, but RELAY_REQUIRED_MIN_BANDWIDTH is 75KB. So we might want to make the DIRSERVER bandwidth at least 150 KB, so that a dirserver can at least deliver one client one consensus in 10 seconds (clients generally wait a few seconds for dirservers to deliver a consensus).

I agree. I started looking at this, and then I got confused by all the muddled functions with similar sounding names. So I opened #22312 as a child, and we should address that first, and maybe when we come back here everything will be easier.

In particular, I kind of hope we decide to raise RELAY_REQUIRED_MIN_BANDWIDTH to 250KBytes, and get rid of MIN_BW_TO_ADVERTISE_DIRSERVER altogether.

These tickets were marked as removed, and nobody has said that they can fix them. Let's remember to look at 033-removed-20180320 as we re-evaluate our triage process, to see whether we're triaging out unnecessarily, and to evaluate whether we're deferring anything unnecessarily. But for now, we can't do these: we need to fix the 033-must stuff now.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
