Does it work if you install a clean new version into a different location (you get it from the website torproject.org)? Do you have Trusteer or a similar Antivirus/Firewall tool running?

I've had the same problem with Win 10. I have tried 3 clean installs (to different directories) of torbrowser-install-7.0.1 and it won't open after installing. Have reverted to installing 6.5, and it works with no problems.

Tor will not start up. Using windows 10. Used to work now it doesn't. I have deleted and reinstalled but no use.
Hello, I also made a clean install of "torbrowser-install-7.0.1_es-ES.exe" on a Laptop with Windows 10 Pro, 64bits with McAfee LiveSafe and Trusteer Raport services for security with internet transactions. Tor never starts when I try to launch it.
I see there is no solution documented yet other than disabling security software or installing an older version of Tor. Can any one please provide more information or a better solution for someone not expert in using Tor and security combined on the net please? Will be highly appreciated since it seems to me that it may be better not to use Tor in this condition.

Yes, it is. Useless and wasteful. Closed source proprietary OS with spy telemetry and closed source dll with unknown functional (only one known effect is to crash new browser code) injected by Trusteer Raport services in to Tor Browser process, what a nice mix. Have a nice crashed privacy and security!

As far as I know there is no solution other than to remove the software that is interfering with Tor Browser. I know some Tor people are trying to contact Trusteer, but as a user of their software you should contact them as well (the may listen to their customers more than they listen to Tor Project people).

I appreciate your comments. It would be great if you could give some advice or reference (blog, article?) as for the configurations that best suit a requirement for privacy and security for the common man who works and trades with leverage on the Net. For instance can I use some "software mix" that in the experience of the people in this community would be usefull and/or recommended considering commercial software like MS Windows? (for instance Win 10, Tor 6.5, and some security software that you already know is more reliable than Trusteer?) Or should I consider acquire more skills in the world of Open Source utilizing a mix like a Linux distribution, Tor x.x, something else to have a more secure, private use of web services and information?

Your question does not have a simple answer. We do support running Tor Browser on Windows 10, but it is impossible for the Tor Browser development team to ensure that it works with the hundreds of anti-malware and other security software that is used on Windows.
Everyone should definitely run the latest version of Tor Browser regardless of operating system because there are almost always security vulnerabilities that are fixed in each new release. That means that downgrading to Tor Browser 6.5.2 is not a good choice.
Learning about and using an open source OS such as Linux is always a good option, but if you want to run Tor Browser on Windows you should start by avoiding Trusteer Rapport (which has a history of interfering with Tor Browser).
