Description (last modified by teor)

By the time we updated the bandwidth authority instructions to use 0.2.8, the stable release was 0.2.9. And it's now 0.3.0.

Ideally, we want to use the Tor release in Tor Browser stable (that's what most of our users are using).

But the latest stable long term support Tor release is easier to work out, and ~they track each other pretty closely it doesn't change very often.

Can we do this? I saw a lot of confusion in irc about the formats of things having possibly changed? Did all that get resolved, or is there anything outstanding there?

I have always been using and currently am using the latest stable version on Debian.

Priorities and Severities in torflow are meaningless, setting them all to Medium/Normal.

Summary: Use the latest stable Tor release for bandwidth authoritiesUse the long term support Tor release for bandwidth authorities

The script was fixed in 241ef3a079775a534043e50d2be7ea4afe9ca787, now we just need to fix the documentation to say "use a local tor or LTS". I think we can do that in #24091.
