Description

Comms team is working on a newsletter for Tor Project. This ticket is not about the mailing part of it, but about the pages people will see if they:

  1. Want to subscribe to the newsletter.
  2. Unsubscribe action is successful - page you see when you click on the link to unsubscribe.
  3. Newsletters permanent page
  4. Archive of previous newsletters

Example of a newsletter permanent page:http://37.218.240.202/archive/2017-09-01-first-newsletterThis is useful for us to have people referring to our newsletter on social media, blogs, articles.Attached is a mock done by Steph which we would like UX team to review:Archive will be just a table with one column for newsletter title and one column for the date it was sent/published.Here is an example of the archive (is not using the design from Steph's mock yet):http://37.218.240.202/archive

Hiro: during the ux ticket triage, isabela, antonela, and I decided that the best thing to do will be to build layout as shown, but with the following changes:

  • add the with the archive on the left like EFF page (https://www.eff.org/effector)
  • the font size of the header and the footer should be the same, but the header is smaller on the mock

Thanks!

We've decided to use text-only previews to avoid iframes.

There are a few things to fix in navigation but I have applied the mockup: http://37.218.240.202

Also the subscribe is working and posting to civi. The confirmation pages are still living on civi, but I think we could ask giant rabbit to redirect to the newsletter and we could make confirmation pages?

cool :)

  • It looks like some content is getting cut off on the front page and archive page.
  • will the archive be separate like this or will it be in a side column?
  • the format of the archived newsletter appears to be lost

Hi,

Currently the newsletter site is deployed to: https://newsletter-master.torproject.org/

It is behind http auth. I will share logins separately.

There are a few things that I will have to fix still regarding the final deployment, but you can start testing and let me know if something doesn't work.

Could I get a login? :)

Let's discuss the progress of this during the next UX ticket triage meeting.
