"And how can I optout from this "statistics collection"?

You do have an option for optout all-data-collecting right?

Be honest. Write this to download page or you'll become another evil google.
"If you use Tor, we collect your computer information and what onion you visit."
"Write xxxxx to torrc file to opt-out." <--- Ideas?"

  1. What Tor is collecting?
  2. Where are these data sent to? Tor Metrics?
  3. How can I opt-out from such data collection/TorMetrics?
  4. Why didn't you explain this to download webpage AND a blog?

You have misunderstood the purpose of the ticket you have commented on (#24064). It is about doing experiments on Tor running on Android, so that we can see how much memory it uses, so we can use less memory.

AFAIK Tor collect data and sent it to dirauth.

@cypherpunks Add "ExtraInfoStatistics 0" to your torrc. You can't prevent other data gathering though

The analysis that developer do on their own devices does not affect user privacy.
Tor typically explains new relay statistics in the release notes (or blog posts).
And research is handled through the research safety board.
