Description

Got this today for the 1st time IIRC at a stable Gentoo Linux :

ct 31 15:53:47.000 [warn] evdns_callback(): Bug: eventdns returned no addresses or error for [scrubbed]! (on Tor 0.3.2.3-alpha 023d756bfc04c244)

I do use dnsmasq with DNSSEC which points to 3x ipv4 and 3x ipv6 DNS resolver of my AS.

That's strange. What version of libevent do you have?

Huh. From looking at the libevent code, I believe this can happen if the nameserver gives us (for example) an A record or an AAAA record of length zero. If that's the case, it's not a tor bug, and we probably shouldn't freak out about it.

Will nameservers do that sometimes?

If so, I think the right response here is to downgrade the warning. My branch ticket24097_032 takes that approach.

Patch looks good to me. Great that we fix '!' in the end of log messages to '.' as well :-)

Thanks for the review! I'm merging this to 0.3.2 and forward.
