GC problem with my /nickm/tor.git repository

Reported by: nickm Owned by: tor-gitadm

Every time I push a branch to the /nickm/tor.git repository on git-rw, I see this warning:

remote: error: The last gc run reported the following. Please correct the root cause
remote: and remove gc.log.
remote: Automatic cleanup will not be performed until the file is removed.
remote: warning: disabling bitmap writing, as some objects are not being packed

I've no clue what to do about it, but I hope somebody else might.

The way I'm understanding it is that this can happen when two pushes are happening at the same time (or rather, before the git gc --auto has finished the next push is initiated). It's annoying for sure and I've manually cleaned up the file, I don't think there's a better fix we can deploy at the current time on the server. The next time you push you should not see this message, if you do I'll have to investigate further. One option might be to disable automatic garbage collection and do it manually on a schedule...
