nusenu suggests publishing Nagios alerts on a mailing list.

Sounds good to me!

How about metrics-alerts@… (does not exist yet)?

For now we'd only send Onionoo warnings there, which is the only Nagios warning that we have right now anyway. And in the future we'd add more notifications based on publicly available data (like CollecTor's index.json).

But we'd have to be careful with sending warnings there that are based on internal logs. For example, problems with sanitizing bridge descriptors shouldn't go to that list.

If this makes sense, I'll kick off the process for creating a list.

(I'll handle this.)

We briefly discussed this at today's meeting, and we agree on having such a list under the suggested name.

There, I just created #25119 to get this list created. Once we have it, I'll configure it and make sure that future notifications go there.

Still waiting for the list to be created. Setting to needs_information to indicate that I'm not doing anything here right now. I'll pick this up again as soon as it's unblocked.

Alright, we have a list now. Next step is to get the warnings redirected to the new list. See #25216.

Okay, #25216 is resolved, so that the next Onionoo warning should go to metrics-alerts@. I think that's it. And if it was not it, we can re-open this ticket or create a new one. Closing.
