Tor browser tells me "A local proxy is needed when connecting through a company, school, or university network"

(This is the help text when I click on the blue question mark next to the proxy setting option.)

This statement is generally false -- a proxy is often not needed in those environments.

Should we change "is needed" to "might be needed"?

We had a ticket for this (#24200 (moved)) but Isabela closed it :)

We could use some feedback from the UX team and/or from real users, but "might be needed" certainly seems like an improvement to me. Does anyone want to volunteer to lead a process for improving the text or should we just do the simple thing and implement Roger's suggested change?

For the record, the question and explanatory text that previously appeared on the wizard screen (prior to Tor Browser 7.5) was: Does this computer need to use a local proxy to access the Internet? o Yes o No

In most cases a local proxy is not needed, but it may be required when connecting through a company, school, or university network.

If you are not sure how to answer this question, look at the Internet settings in another browser or check your system's network settings to see whether a local proxy is needed.
