Description

I am not able to select "Remember logins for sites" or attempt to create a first-time master password without getting an error message box. The "Remember logins" checkbox is grayed out, and above the boxes where I fill in my created master password, the grayed-out box says the "current password" is "not set." I'm an ordinary user, new to Tor. Thanks.

Both issues you mention are features of Tor Browser stemming from the requirement to leave essentially no trace on the computer revealing browsing activity. "Remember logins for sites" is not available as Tor Browser is using Firefox's permanent private browsing mode to avoid saving browsing data to disk. And you can't set a master password by default as this would lead to disk activity which might not be wanted. However, you can override that option by flipping the security.nocertdb preference to false.
