Description

Hello. I register here to edit https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/GoodBadISPs and https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ISPCorrespondence . I have done this some times before. I always register a new name/identity because that is a key feature to stay anonymous and to not be tracked (the basic Tor ideas).

Why am i not able to edit those pages? I am sure there was an edit button some time ago. Now i cant see any edit button any more.
Please help. I have spend hours talking and writing with a CEO of an ISP about tor and i want to document that in the wiki.

Yeah this is very confusing. Do you know cypherpunks multiaccount? I was able to use it to edit/create tickets but it seems Tor Project is owned by NSA

We disabled most permissions on most accounts, because someone was using the cypherpunks account to close tickets, and paste random text into tickets. We were also having issues with bots using the search function, and bringing down the server.

I have given myloc_aug_2018 permissions to edit the wiki.

Replying to teor:

For the record, this ticket was about wiki editing privileges, which had nothing to do with the above and weren't revoked in July when this ticketspam happened. new accounts only had most of their trac ticket abilities removed (and cypherpunks had all ticket abilities removed). Wiki editing privileges were still there.

Until very recently. When one cypherpunks, frustrated and angry about the inability to use tickets, and obviously unable to file a ticket about "i can't file a ticket," started instead vandalizing several trac wiki pages with his rant Fucking shit, cyphrpunks account cannot create and comment tickets. TICKET_CREATE privileges are required to perform this operation on Ticket #None. You don't have the required permissions. at Aug 29, 2018, 2:23:41 PM.

So now we only a few days ago lost trac wiki editing, too, in a knee-jerk reaction to one, completely different person.

Its not fixed. I get now the whole time (i tried it more then 3 times and completed the captcha without problems):
"Submission rejected as potential spam

Maximum number of external links per post exceeded"

I would now try to hack around that by adding my post in parts to the wiki. Why cant i just be able to wrote some longer wiki post? Please fix that.

WTF! Now i cant continue with my work of fixing the broken links because of:
"Maximum number of posts per hour for this IP exceeded"

Really, first i get blocked to make the edits, then i cant add the required amout of links (its just a copy of what is inside of the email, i dont want to modify the original source of the text and just post the original email content).

Now i would try to start to jump IP-addresses (thanks to writing with tor browser its easy) and hope i can continue my work now.

EDIT: I was not even able to send in this issue post. I also got the same error with the IP. I had to backup my written text in the window here and press in the tor browser on "new tor circuit for this site"

EDIT2: That was really waste of some time on my side.
I had to split my change into 5 changes:
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ISPCorrespondence?action=diff&version=53
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ISPCorrespondence?action=diff&version=54
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ISPCorrespondence?action=diff&version=55
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ISPCorrespondence?action=diff&version=56
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ISPCorrespondence?action=diff&version=57

This "security" inside of this wiki is really not useful for tor users (dont stop them - happily) but waste their time.
For example i really dont get that: When i add about 4-5 links (the max amount of working links at once) why would more links in a spam post make the spam-post "more worse"? I dont get that. About 4-5 spam links in a post are enough spam. More spam links in the same post dont make the spam post more worse.
