Description

After the latest update, I noticed that the desktop icon for Tor had disappeared. The link itself is still there along with the name of the shortcut and clicking on it will launch the program, but the icon has disappeared. The problem remains after deleting and reinstalling. Currently using version 8.0.1 (based on Mozilla Firefox 60.2.0esr) (64-bit) in Debian GNU/Linux 9.5 (stretch).

Could you find out where the icon path is pointing to? Does it help if you unregister (--unregister-app) and then register the browser again (--register-app)?

That worked for me.

Thanks, closing as WORKSFORME then.

This was pointing to tor-browser_en-US/start-tor-browser.desktop. The unregister/register command (./start-tor-browser --unregister-app followed by ./start-tor-browser --register-app) also worked for me.
