How did you install and uninstall privoxy? Was this part of the bundle or an individual install?

Did you receive any errors during either install or uninstall?

Do you still have a C:\Program Files\Privoxy directory?

Install was via the Privoxy / Tor bundle at

Uninstall was the basic windows control panel / uninstall

when i had this problem at first i went into the registry and removed things referencing tor and privoxy. no soap.

win32, by the way.

I don't have any magic mojo to fix privoxy. If you try uninstalling everything for the Tor bundle, and if these dirs still exist:
remove C:\Program Files\Tor and C:\Program Files\ToCP

Then download the latest bundle from and try again. In C:\Program Files\ there should be a tor-bundle-uninstall.exe file.

If you want better, real time support, try #tor in or OR-TALK mailing list.

I can't recreate this situation. I've tried all sorts of things to make privoxy install/uninstall break. Unless your
Windows Installer is corrupted, I don't have any good answers.
