I've noticed that Alleged Family Members on metrics seemingly never disappear.

Reported on Tor-relays:

I also have the same issue:

My other relay has been offline for months (since July 2018) and it still displays as a family member.

Double checked to confirm that I have nothing set on MyFamily. The poster on tor-relays says the same.

I can see this as well happening. Sometimes really long ago it had MyFamily set with 2 fingerprints, but the second one didn't run for long time so MyFamily was removed entirely from the running relay's torrc after the 2nd relay shut down, but alleged family member never disappeared in relaysearch.

I haven't investigated this yet, but it sure sounds like an Onionoo bug. Changing component.

I'm having the same issue. Tor Metrics shows my current relay having an "Alleged family member", which was a relay I had setup a few months ago, but only kept online for a few days.
The "MyFamily" field is empty in the configuration file.

Yup, it was an Onionoo bug. irl, please review commit 941ffd6 in my task-28314 branch.
