Description

Sometimes, especially for Tor server operators with multiple Tor instances, it would be handy to include a single file into different torrc files, to avoid touching multiple files when changing a single config option that is shared throughout all instances.

A good example for such config options would be 'MyFamily' and 'ExitPolicy'.

Would be nice if you could provide a new config options that implements such a feature.

thanks,
tagnaq

Potentially useful. The hard part would probably be figuring out what to do with SAVECONFIG when includes are used: if we don't have to support them both at once, that 'd make it easier.

Also potentially useful is to support wildcards so we could say "include ~/.tor.d/*" or such.

This is not happening in 0.2.3.x; in the meantime see the "default torrc" stuff added to master recently.

Hi,

I just setup a bunch of new high speed nodes. The lack of an include statement still makes it difficult to maintain myfamily and ExitPolicy and keeping track of all. Hope that this feature will come sometime soon. Because it would help me with any abuse message I get from my ISP, I don't regard this as a minor feaaure for those who operate the large Tor nodes. To make it more visible I will increase priority.

Thanks for taking case of this feature request.

Just chatted with weasel about this here in Berlin from a Debian perspective. We agreed that from the Tor side, that just implementing an include directive that worked for both files and directories would cover all that we need.

It should probably have some glob support, and we might want even '*' globs to ignore certain patterns.

Not supporting directories as the include target should probably be OK if we have globs.
