While at https://check.torproject.org/, noticed the "JavaScript is enabled" at the bottom of the page. Double checked slider under Security Settings, still set to safest. Clicked relay search and checked a few other websites, sure enough, JavaScript is enabled. Hmm. Deleted app, downloaded .apk from Tor website 'tor-browser-8.5a11-android-armv7-multi', same issue. This issue started after a "factory data reset". Before that, no problems. Running Android version 7.0 . and NetGuard 2.238. Before using Tor Browser for Android, using Orfox/Orbot and NetGuard would not play well together, but over a month of Tor Browser for Android and no problems until now. Thoughts?

Yes, I agree. We'll get new alphas out once we are confident we have this fixed on stable. #30388 is the best bug to track that.
