#30970 new defect

Different window borders in XFCE can lead to different, not rounded window sizes

The Murrine theme is fine but if you e.g. chose Default XHDPI then you won't get a properly rounded window anymore. Letterboxing does only help here once it kicks in which is only the case as soon as the window gets resized.

Reported by a cypherpunk.

#30625#comment:4 - system DPI settings can affect new window sizing (excuse my ignorance if this is not applicable to the theme)

#27845 - shows that different desktop environments, themes, density can alter chrome elements (paddings, margins etc): in this case the bookmarks toolbar, but entirely plausible this also affects other areas. Does the cypherpunk have the bookmark toolbar showing?

I would consider this a dupe?

As for letterboxing sometimes (it's a race) not kicking in on first window (on first firefox.exe run), I think there might be a bugzilla on this. But Tor Browser on first open does not load any web content, and letterboxing should be available for any subsequent tabs and new windows. There is also for letterboxing to not apply to about: pages. So I don't see a problem here.

I also have noticed windows not taking into account the border size in xmonad.
