#314 closed defect (Fixed)

Application uses IP warning when that IP is mapped through MapAddress to a hostname

Description

The Tor client provides MapAddress feature for mapping addresses.
It's also a handy way to force applications which try to resolve DNS names themselves to use a proper hostname.

Tor flags this as a warning, even though it does the resolution on its own.

Tor shouldn't give the warning iff that IP is mapped.

Agreed. I've assigned it to me. It'll take some messing around with the code though,
since the warnings happen way before the check to see if there's a mapaddress that
applies. I'll see what I can do. Thanks!
