#3178 closed defect (invalid)

Unable to do non- interactive install (deb package)

The Vidalia deb package displays an interactive menu on install. This is a problem when trying to script the install process.

I suggest honoring the "--assume-yes" option and selecting one of the options when doing: aptitude install --assume-yes

First, I think this should be reported in the Debian bug tracking system: Vidalia Debian packages are maintained by dererk, and not by the Tor project as far as I can tell. Also, this means assigning this bug to Erinn probably is useless.

Second, it seems to me this interactive menu is a debconf one, to which standard Debian customization techniques apply. Answers to it can be pre-recorded using standard debconf preseeding. Also, the minimum priority of debconf questions to display can be set using the debconf/priority debconf setting.

So, I believe this bug to be invalid.
4ZM, did I miss anything?

Since I've discontinued development of the Haven Project, this bug is no longer an issue for me.

If it is an issue for anyone else, you are probably right that it should be handled in the Debian bug tracking system.

I'll close it as invalid.
